Virtual Sit Meditations for Advent 2025
About This Event
Advent can be a sacred time for reflecting on our spiritual journey. This year, we’re hosting a series of free Advent Virtual Sit Meditations, guided by the wisdom of Fr. Richard Rohr’s book, Preparing for Christmas.
These Advent Sit Meditations will be broadcast on our YouTube channel each Sunday morning during Advent, on November 30, December 7, December 14, and December 21, at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
A Reflective Tradition
Since its founding in 1987, the Center for Action and Contemplation has begun each day with a 20-minute period of silent contemplative prayer that our founder, Fr. Richard Rohr, likes to call “Daily Sit.”
Inspired by this “Daily Sit” tradition, these Virtual Sit Meditations offer our global CAC community a time of shared reflection, stillness, and insight.
“Advent is, above all else, a call to full consciousness and a forewarning about the high price of consciousness.”
—RICHARD ROHR, Preparing for Christmas

Reflect Daily with Preparing for Christmas
In Preparing for Christmas, Fr. Richard Rohr reminds us that “the celebration of Christmas is not a sentimental waiting for a baby to be born, but much more an asking for history to be born!” You may find that ordering a copy of Preparing for Christmas will help you step even deeper into these meditations.
We hope you can join us for this series of live contemplative gatherings designed to celebrate what has passed and make room for what is to come. If you have any questions, contact our Community Support Team.
